Good Practice in North Bihar and Bengal
Villages in North Bihar and Bengal are affected due to floods almost every year. Learning from their experiences, the children in these villages have taken significant actions to cope with floods. Children realized that the evacuation and staying in camps is very difficult situation for younger children below five years. Since they are not able to speak and explain their identities. So every child above three years is taught carefully to speak full name and name of the village. Aside that, before evacuation, youth of the village put a Tait (Traditional tag) on their hand with full name and address to ensure that in case the child is lost in a crowd, can be traced and brought back to the family.
